Adventure's and Treasures I discovered

Today was a very busy day.  I began my day with a work out that was so very much needed considering I ate alot of snacks this week.  I am so overwhelmed with the task at hand trying to pack for my trip.  Oh so ready for a trip.  I am en route for a cruise on June 20, 2010 to the caribbean I can hear the steel drums playing.  I took a ride with a close friend to the Columbus Flea Market to purchase a sweater to wear over my dress and it seems like I was there for a long time.  After the ride to Columbus Flea Market I took a trip to the nail salon to get myself a pedicure and boy did it feel good!  It was costly but oh so worth it!

As I sat in the nail salon I was reading a very old book by Maya Angelou "I wouldn't take nothing for my journey" it is a book with alot of excerpts and poems about life's experiences.  There was a story entitled "The New Direction" it was a story about a women who was married and was very unhappy.  She approached her husband to tell him of her dismay about the horrible marriage only to find out that he felt the same way!  Therefore, they split up and she didn't have any skills but she created a job for herself selling food to the workers at the lumber yard.  She realized that she couldn't work at the lumber yard because she was inexperienced and a women so she decided to invent her own job.  The moral of the story was about a women in a crisis and instead of having a pity party she decided to cease the moment and reinvent herself!  Therefore, I've realized with the turn of events in my own life with my separation and surprising notices that my husband already had a women on the side.  With that being said I just have to accept the fact that I can;'t change people or the environment but one thing is for certain I can only change myself!

"It's a Family Affair"

Today I started my day with no direction or idea what I was going to do.  However, there were a few more items I needed to buy before my cruise on June 20, 2010.  I got a call from a close friend who suggested that we go to the mall and grab a cup of coffee.  I was not a coffee drinker but for some reason six months ago I have become very fond of "french vanilla coffee."  We did go to the mall and had coffee but an unexpected event happened while we were at the mall.  My friend's sibling was taken to the hospital by way of ambulance.  I've been around my friends family and noticed that they have such a bond.  The family is replica of the movie Soul Food as it relates to the love and closeness on holidays and family gatherings .  Yep, they are close and no matter what happens they always come together NO MATTER WHAT!  Although it was a brief stay for the family member at the hospital the whole family begans to rally together and they always show up for one another.  Family from the north, south, east and west whether via telephone or in person makes an appearance or call several times a day.  They always come through for one another!

It is such a family affair!

Family is so important and alot of families have no respect for one another.  We talk about each other and hold grudges but if the truth be told  we can't afford not to be close!  Look at the world today.  We can't depend on anything these days.  Jobs are downsizing, social security may become insufficient for some when its time to retire.  That's just to name a few things.  When will we come to the conclusion that Family can be an asset greater than any material or money.....  Family can bring a smile to your face on a day when your not feeling well.  Family can be your biggest support in a crisis.  Believe me I've witness with my own eyes today that family is essential.

Yep,  I truly believe that it's a family affair!
